Linda Hollier is an explorer with a pioneer spirit. A keen observer of life and culture, she is driven by a boundless curiosity that finds expression both through travel around the globe and through journeys into cyberspace. This spirit of exploration lies at the heart of her creative practice.
Born in South Africa, Linda now lives in Canada, following a decade in Germany and another in the United Arab Emirates. These experiences of living across cultures have shaped her understanding of identity, belonging, and the invisible threads that connect us.
Her process is intuitive and experimental, often beginning with moments encountered in everyday life, and evolving through layers of slow-shutter photography and experimental digital processes. She captures not only what is seen, but the energy and impermanence that accompany it.
At the heart of Linda's practice is an exploration of the subtle dance between stillness and movement. Her works emerge from the belief that these are not opposing forces, but states that coexist. The world is in constant flux, yet moments of deep presence remain available to us. Viewers of Linda’s art are invited to pause, reflect, and discover that transformation often happens in stillness, even as life continues to unfold around us.
Linda’s work inhabits both gallery walls and expanded digital landscapes, dissolving traditional boundaries between the real and the virtual. She creates opportunities for moments of presence and shared wonder, as well as experiences that invite reflection and quiet discovery,
